Black Poetry Day



October 17th is the birth anniversary of the first published African-American poet, Jupiter Hammon, who was born into slavery in 1711, probably on Long Island. Consequently, October 17 is also Black Poetry Day.

American Bandstand

October 7, 1957 marks the day when Bandstand was first part of a local program called WFIL-TV, Channel 6 in Philadephia. Click on the link to watch more and complete the asignment.

Place each word in ABC order and write what part of speech they are.(In class the words were misspelled and the students used the elctronic calculator to correct spellings before doing the assignment.)
